Konstantin Godlevsky is a Latvian-born, London-based painter of surreal landscapes and imagined spaces.
His work often begins with a sense of divided presence: being physically in one place while mentally, emotionally or sensorially inhabiting another. He is drawn to states in which different spaces, memories and feelings seem to overlap, creating a quiet tension between the immediate world and an internal one. Solitude appears in his work not simply as isolation, but as a condition in which perception becomes more open, unstable and reflective.
Working in al secco fresco and oil, Konstantin filters memory, experience and inner states into landscapes that sit somewhere between the familiar and the uncertain. Surrealism is his way of seeing the external world differently. The landscapes he paints are not records of real locations but projections of an inner life, places that feel recognisable and yet remain just out of reach.
